We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Brown University, 11th Hour Racing, the East Bay Sailing Foundation (EBSF), Morrelli & Melvin, and Hydrofin. Together, these organizations are combining their expertise to create a prototype vessel designed to help set a new standard for the future of boating.
Who We Are and What We Do:
- 11th Hour Racing is dedicated to driving environmental sustainability through the sport of sailing. With a focus on ocean health, the organization partners with sailors and innovators to reduce the environmental impact of the maritime industry, raise awareness of ocean conservation, and promote sustainable practices.
- East Bay Sailing Foundation (EBSF) is committed to making sailing more accessible and promoting ocean stewardship. Their educational programs provide youth and underserved communities with the opportunity to learn about sailing, marine science, and environmental conservation.
- Brown University Sailing is a highly competitive collegiate sailing team based in Providence, Rhode Island. Competing in the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA), the team is known for its strong performance in both fleet racing and team racing events. Brown Sailing has a history of success, consistently qualifying for national championships and producing top-tier sailors.
- Morrelli & Melvin are renowned for their innovative designs of high-performance multihulls and cutting-edge yachts. Known for their involvement in the America’s Cup, they specialize in creating fast, efficient boats that push the limits of technology, combining speed with comfort and sustainability.
- Hydrofin is a leader in providing innovative hydrofoil technology that improves boat performance and efficiency. By reducing drag and increasing speed, Hydrofin’s products allow vessels to glide effortlessly across the water while also promoting fuel savings and reducing their carbon footprint.
